A few things.

The recent Magnum Blog gave a list of inspirational photo and art blogs, which is included this blog as well as many blogs of my artist friends. I have also discovered quite a few great blogs from that list, really good resource to see other artist’s work and getting information about the art world.

If you haven’t heard about it, the BLIND SPOT: Collapsing Images, an afternoon of panel discussion/artist conversation event will be held at the New York Public Library this Saturday. The program sounds so good, you don’t want to miss it, get your tickets asap.

Last night, I was craving for a Bollywood drama, but ended up watching another Indian film Water. I was so impressed by the cinematography of this film, it is breathtaking and tearful. It somehow reminded me photographs of Steve McCurry. I suddenly have an urge to visit India. See the trailer here you'll know what I mean.

Simon Roberts - Motherland

Last night’s opening of a solo exhibition titled Motherland, a series of photographs by British photographer Simon Roberts at Klompching Gallery was quite a scene. It was totally a full house with a fantastic crowed of photo people. I met Simon Roberts at Review Santa Fe in 2005 and was instantly fall in love with his work. This is a show you do not want to miss, and say hello to Brooklyn!

Emma.

Emma by Shen Wei

Over the weekend, I had a wonderful trip to upstate New York. I snapped this photo with my cell phone while setting up my big camera for a landscape shot. I know everybody says their dog is the cutest, but check out my dog, isn’t she the cutest of all? She just turned 4 last week.

First-time Experience

Zoo Art Fair has been called Britain's coolest art fair. This year’s art fair will be held at London’s Royal Academy of Arts. Since it started in 2004, Zoo Art Fair has been supported by The Saatchi Gallery. So I nearly jumped on my desk when I received an invitation from Saatchi Gallery asking me to participate the art fair with them this year. This is my first time to have my photograph shown in Europe and an art fair, very excited!

Another first time experience for me was to give a guest presentation in college. I have been invited by good friend Amy Stein to present and talk about my work for a photo class in Parsons School of Design. I absolutely loved the experience. It was not only an honor to share my inspiration with others, but also an opportunity to communicate and exchange ideas with the student photographers.

So, if you are in London area, please don't forget to visit the ZOO.
